Its cars and engines earned a reputation for technical sophistication. This two-cylinder, double-acting White engine -- modified to power a boat -- was no exception. The advanced design features an aluminum crankcase, a ball-bearing crankshaft and piston valves, and a compound layout with high- and low-pressure cylinders.
