Held annually since 1951, The Henry Ford's Old Car Festival brings together hundreds of vintage motor vehicles and thousands of spectators each year. At times, vehicles were presented to the museum's collection during the event. In 1962, executive director Donald A. Shelley formally accepted a 1923 Chevrolet Coupe. The unusual car was powered by an air-cooled, four-cylinder engine.
